Our collaboration with the Cité de l'espace began in 2007 and continues to this day. After the realization of a first exhibition, Cosmomania, which was a great success, the Cité de l'espace entrusted us with the redesign of the entire graphic charter of the permanent exhibitions. This charter is intended to be applied to the redesign of the 2500 m² of exhibition space. This charter therefore had to be very flexible to be able to adapt to the very wide variety of media, while being strong enough to create a real attractive and playful atmosphere.
We have defined 6 shades of colour corresponding to the 6 large exhibition spaces, as well as graphic mechanisms that can be easily applied to all media: walls, panels, signage, furniture, touch screens, etc.
We created the graphics for this 450 m² space, which is themed around all the space applications that affect our daily lives (telecommunications, health, environment, agriculture, etc.).
In this 450 m² space, the visitor goes on a journey through the solar system. The entrance is through a wide corridor that the visitor crosses starting from the sun and gradually moving away from it. Then came the discovery of lunar explorations, including the piloting of a jeep, and finally the future Martian programs.
With its 600 m² of exhibitions, the Launch Centre offers visitors the opportunity to discover the history, operation and characteristics of a launch pad, from the first rockets to the present day as well as future programmes.
In addition to permanent exhibitions, we regularly hold temporary exhibitions to be presented at the Cité de l'Espace but also in other places such as the Cité des Sciences in Paris, as well as abroad. This was the case with this exhibition held in 2013 for the fiftieth anniversary of the first woman in space, Valentina Tereshkova, as well as for all the women who followed her into space.
This other temporary exhibition presented the Martian adventure and the robot explorers who took part in it. Visitors could compare the Earth with its cousin, through interactive installations and playful furniture.
This exhibition presents the two explorers, the Curiosity rover sent to Mars, and the Rosetta / Philae couple who went to meet the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
"I am an architect and museographer responsible for the renewal of the permanent exhibitions of the Cité de l'espace, a centre for scientific and recreational culture on the themes of space and astronomy in Toulouse. Museography is at the heart of our activity within the Exhibition Department, but it cannot function without two other pillars: scenography and graphic design. The work with Cubedesigners for the graphic part was in more ways than one pleasant and effective: inventiveness, responsiveness, quality of working relationships... We thank them for that. It is for these reasons that we do not hesitate to ask Cubedesigners for new projects at the Cité de l'espace. »
